Finally, more is happening. What it is, I am not sure because there is nothing they tell us to describe it. Maybe it will be flower beds OR benches OR a place to recycle??????? I don't know. I just know the area was once named Turtle Place by the local Chinook Indians and it was a meeting place as well as a place to trade things and fish in the nearby Columbia River. I can hardly wait to see what is going to be there.
October 11th Update Well . . . now some of the markings are colored. . .
This was the latest last week on Friday. I am enjoying the mural but I wish they would get started ont he rest of the parking lot which is to have some kind of water and resting places, sorta like a park.
I knew this was an environment project so am not surprised to see these words painted on the building. Each time I visit it, it amazes me what they have added. I can hardly wait to see the whole mural.
This entry will aim to catch up with posting the progress of Turtle Place mural on the wall of a building in the old transit center parking lot which is to becoeme a meeting place again like it was originally intended long before Vancouver became an established city, in the days of Fort Vancouver. I have no idea what the finished mural will look like so mostly, this will be with little comment. The oldest posts will be at the bottom and don't forget, I started this story over on Turtle Place, my old blog. The first photo will be the latest. (I will try to add updates rgularly now.)
I am on my third digital camera, all Olympus. I enjoy using it and sharing my photos. I also enjoy writing. I hope to share a little of each on this blog. My main blog is Postcards From the Northwest.
Kerri and I will continue to add benches to "For the Love of Benches Continued . . . " blog also. It is good to continue to share with her!
Continuation of the Kiggins House Re-model photos were lost when my computer crashed.
The latest city project, TURTLE PLACE, will unfold here as I have time to add photos. It is complete and maybe I can find enough photos someday to show you the final results. Next project after the two I am working on now. . .
